Sources of inspiration

Inspiration has come from many different places but here are some of the games that has either directly or indirectly inspired me through-out the game’s development.

Unfortunately, many of these games are no longer readily available and I don’t have any information about where or how to download them.

Java Sim Brothel

The core game loop of House Dominae is based on this game, Java Sim Brothel (or Jasbro). My game has evolved quite a bit over the years and I’d argue it’s taken on a distinct identity of its own, but this definitely served as my starting point. There were also many concepts I disagreed with that drove me to come up with my own solutions.

Jasbro supports custom characters and there’s a ton of them to choose from, most of which were created by the players themselves.

Slave Maker 3

This remains one of my favorite games of this type. It was the first slave trainer game I played. I really enjoy the slow, steady transformation the slaves go through as you train them.

Jack o’ Nine Tails

Honestly, this game is not really my cup of tea. “Jack-o” has a much darker tone than the other games I’ve played. In that sense, it’s served as a useful reference point for a darker perspective on the slave trainer genre, which I wouldn’t want to ignore.

Corruption of Champions

This is an erotic text-based adventure game with a theme of transformation. I was especially impressed with how it lets the player character change drastically while reaffirming those changes in the written text. It’s very well done.

Free Cities

This is another fascinating game about slave training on a slightly larger scale. Every slave is uniquely different and described in minute detail, which helps to paint a realistic picture.
